| Notes for Peaslee Badger Major | ||||||||||||||||||
| From "Giles Badger and his Descendants" by John Cogswell Badger "About 1810, Peaslee had the misfortune to break his leg 7 miles from home, recovering and breaking it twice after that, and September 5, 1814, it was amputated 6 inches above the knee, after which he wore a wooden leg, the prints of which can still be seen on the stairs at the old home in Belmont, New Hampshire, where he used to come to visit the author's grandfather, who was his nephew." | ||||||||||||||||||
