| Tim | The picture of Lois and Steve [below] was taken about 1948, maybe 1949. I THINK I was around 8. I remember that pictures were taken of the three of us, and Steve wouldn't stop crying. Of course, as the oldest, I felt vastly superior. The picture was taken in the parlor against the north wall. I can remember the photographer trying to cheer Steve with some sort of toy. |
| Steve | Lois loved to send me humorous
birthday cards, but they were not just for her enjoyment or mine. She
would call me on the phone and ask me how I liked it, and then tell me how
all of her colleagues at work thought it was funny.
She was happiest, though, if I told her that I took it to work and showed it to all of my friends and they liked it. "Did you tell them that your sister Lois sent it to you?" she'd ask. She wanted to be sure that I told them that it was she who had sent it to me. |
